The Media's Campaign against Kerry

In 2000 the media conducted a "War on Gore," following the script of the GOP on the Internet and other "stories." I had some hope the media might cover the 2004 election on a balanced basis. Alas, it is not to be so. The Campaign Against Kerry is now well underway.

In Journalism School I was taught the old line that "if your mother tells you that she loves you, check it out." The new line appears to be "if the GOP tells you to attack Democrats, attack Democrats." One has to only look at the way the media has bought the "$900 in 100 days" line the GOP and Sen. Zell Miller has been pushing.

And by the way, why don't the Democrats throw Zell Miller out of the party?

Soviet looking leader?

The Wall Street Journal likes to refer to Sen. John Kerry as "French looking and French sounding."

That got me thinking, if Sen. Kerry is like the French, what does that make Bush?

Since he looked into Vladimir Putin soul and liked what he saw (and considering his lack of appreciation for democracy) maybe Bush should be referred to as a Soviet styled leader. And since the WSJ editorial page is the official page of the administration, does that make them a "Soviet styled newspaper."

Sounds like Pravda.
